Bruised Heart Cocktail – A Sweet & Fruity Vodka Drink That Hits Different

If you’re looking for a bold and fruity drink that stands out during the holidays or any cozy night in, the Bruised Heart cocktail is it.

With its vibrant red color and perfectly balanced mix of vodka, raspberry, and peach, this drink tastes like something you’d order at a classy bar & now you can make it at home! Let’s dive in.

" Bruised Heart "

What’s the story behind the Bruised Heart?

While this isn’t a historic classic, it has the makings of a modern favorite. Built on a base of vodka and boosted with raspberry liqueur, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice, this cocktail is sweet, smooth, and dangerously easy to sip.

The deep red hue gives it a romantic yet slightly dramatic vibe, perfect for Valentine’s Day, Christmas gatherings, or any moment that needs a little flair. Think of it as a flirty twist on a Cosmopolitan, but fruitier and more playful.

Here's how you can do it yourself

Ingredients

45 ml ( 1.5 oz ) Vodka
45 ml ( 1.5 oz ) Raspberry Liqueur
45 ml ( 1.5 oz ) Peach Schnapps
45 ml ( 1.5 oz ) Cranberry Juice

How to do it

  1. Pour in the Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur, Peach Schnapps & Cranberry Juice to the Shaker using a Jigger for precision

When to Fine Strain Your Cocktail

Fine straining (aka double straining) is your go-to move when you want a silky, pulp-free pour.

Use both a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to keep unwanted ice chips or fruit bits out of your final drink.

For something as smooth and polished as the Bruised Heart, fine straining helps the color shine, and the texture stay elegant.
