What makes this cocktail special?

The Bloody Concoction might sound like a Halloween special, but it’s a crowd-pleaser all year round.

This deep-red drink gets its bold color and flavor from cherry liqueur and grenadine, while white rum gives it just enough kick. Peach schnapps adds a juicy sweetness that rounds it all out.

It’s not a classic, but it’s definitely a conversation starter. Whether you’re serving it in a spooky mug or a clear glass to show off the color, this cocktail is as fun to look at as it is to sip. Crushed ice keeps it light and chilled, ideal for parties or playful evenings at home.

Here's how you can do it yourself

Ingredients

45 ml ( 1.5 oz ) White Rum
15 ml ( 0.5 oz ) Peach Schnapps
60 ml ( 2 oz ) Cherry Liqueur
15 ml ( 0.5 oz ) Grenadine
Crushed Ice

How to do it

  1. Pour the White Rum, Peach Schnapps, Cherry Liqueur & Grenadine into the Shaker, using a Jigger for precision
  2. Add ice cubes
  3. Shake Well
  4. Fill out the Viking in Valhalla Mug with Crushed Ice
  5. Strain the cocktail into the Mug using the Sköl Hawthorne Strainer
  6. Insert your favorite matching straw

Should You Use Crushed Ice for This Cocktail?

Absolutely. Crushed ice isn’t just for tiki drinks, it gives The Bloody Concoction a better dilution rate and keeps that bright, juicy flavor refreshing.

Just remember crushed ice melts faster, so drink it fresh!

You can use an ice crusher, blender, or even a sturdy mallet and towel (old-school style) to make it at home.
