The Falling Night Cocktail Recipe & History Behind it

Deep inside the Valleys of Iceland on a magnificent night, was a group of Vikings battling their hearts out.

Swords were clashing and horns were being blown and suddenly the sun came down…

" The Falling Night "

What happened next ?

As the warriors were battling, the name of Odin they were calling ” We are coming ! ”  they said

It was a tough bout and the Vikings souls were slowly coming out. There was only one direction…

The Halls of Valhalla ! Where warriors rejoice and dine with the gods.

With drinks in their hands you can hear them shouting ” Sköl ! “

Are you brave enough to taste the drink they had that very night ?

  4. Strain the cocktail into the Mountains Glass using the Skol Hawthorne Strainer

  7. Garnish with a Kiwi Slice after having added Chocolate Sprinkles to the Glass’s rim
Terviseks !

Double / Fine Straining : Whenever you are doing a cocktail with muddled fruits such as the Kiwi in this example or other fruits that crumble into very small pieces you should always consider fine straining the end mix.

Fine straining means whilst you are using your Cobbler Shaker’s built in strainer or your Boston Shaker with a Hawthorne Strainer on top, you’ll also want to use a Fine Mesh Strainer at the same time to filter out those small bits and pieces from your drink ( The process is called Double Straining )

If you’re making the cocktail for yourself there’s always personal preference such as the example here where we chose to keep the messiness of the Kiwi inside the cocktail instead of Fine Straining. It’s up to you after all !

What do you think about the " Falling Night " cocktail ?

Will you try it out yourself ?
