" Raleigh "

What does this cocktail taste like?

The Raleigh is a vibrant, easy-drinking cocktail that brings citrusy sweetness to the forefront. It’s a fruity mix of white rum, orange juice, lemon juice, and grenadine, creating a layered flavor that’s both lively and approachable.

Though not a classic in the traditional sense, the Raleigh feels like a cocktail you should already know. It’s believed to be a playful twist on tropical bar staples, borrowing from beachy rum drinks and brunch-friendly citrus mixes.

What makes it shine is its balance: the rum gives it strength, the juices bring freshness, and the grenadine adds just enough sweet depth and color.

It’s also visually striking, especially when garnished with an orange peel-wrapped flower. Making it perfect for serving at parties, warm-weather hangouts, or any night when you want something cheerful in your glass.

Here's how you can mix it yourself

Ingredients

60 ml ( 2 oz ) White Rum
40 ml ( 1.33 oz ) Orange Juice
Half Lemon Squeezed
Dash of Grenadine

Garnish : Artificial Flower Wrapped with an Orange Peel

How to do it

  1. Add Ice cubes inside the Shaker
  2. Pour in the White Rum & Orange Juice using a Jigger for precision
  3. Using a Lemon Squeezer, Squeeze Half a Lemon Inside
  4. Add a Dash of Grenadine
  5. Shake Well
  6. Strain the mix into the Cocktail Glass
  7. Garnish with a Flower & Orange Peel

Should I Pre-Chill the Glass?

Absolutely! Especially if you’re using a coupe or margarita glass. Pre-chilling helps keep your Raleigh cocktail cold without extra dilution. Just pop the glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prep your ingredients. Then, dump the ice or water before pouring. It’s a small step, but it makes a big difference in preserving that bright citrus flavor.
