What is a French Martini & How is it done

Fellow Martini Lovers, the following recipe is a classic delicacy that although is not actually a Martini but is called for being one nevertheless

" French Martini "

Why was it called a French Martini ?

This cocktail is a simple recipe that is originally made with high quality vodka, pineapple juice alongside the popular Chambord Raspberry Liqueur which is French made.

You can go all out French mode and use French Vodka as well while making this delicacy.

When
was this cocktail invented ?

It was invented in the 1980s at one of Keith McNally’s New York City bars. Afterwards it was seen to have appeared on the bar menu at McNally’s Balthazar in SoHo back in 1996

Without further ado, let's ado it !
Double Walled Mixing Tin for stirring cocktails
Ingredients

45 ml ( 1.5 oz ) Vodka
15 ml ( 0.5 oz ) Raspberry Liqueur
15 ml ( 0.5 oz ) Pineapple Juice

Garnish : Dried Orange Slice

How to make it
  1. Pour the Vodka, Raspberry Liqueur & Pineapple Juice into the Double Walled Mixing Cup using the Jigger Cup
  2. Add Ice with the Stainless Steel Ice Scoop
  3. Stir well using the Strainer Tail Spoon
  4. Strain the cocktail into the Snaketini Glass via the spoon’s tail
  5. Garnish with a Dried Orange Slice using the Long Garnish Tweezer

Straining : It is important to strain the cocktails that you prepare inside a Shaker via shaking or in a Mixing Cup via stirring since you are mostly using ice to dilute the drink’s components but you don’t want those ice pieces leftover inside your drink.

Normally the easiest way to do so is by using a Cobbler Shaker’s built in strainer or if you’re using a Boston Shaker instead, you can add a Hawthorne Strainer on top and strain with it.

In this cocktail you will see an amazing spoon that has a strainer on the opposite end to the spoon.  We used it both for stirring the cocktail via the spoon part& for straining the final mix via the strainer tail.  It is such an amazing bar tool to have !
