Buck Fizz Cocktail Recipe – A Bright, Bubbly Classic Worth Reviving

The Buck Fizz is the kind of cocktail that makes any moment feel like a celebration.

With just champagne and orange juice, it’s simple, sparkly, and effortlessly classy.

Whether you’re planning a brunch or just want something light and fizzy, this vintage gem is worth a pour.

" Buck Fizz "

History of this cocktail

The Buck Fizz first appeared at London’s Buck’s Club in the 1920s, crafted by bartender Malachy McGarry.

While today it’s often confused with the more famous Mimosa, the Buck Fizz came first — and with a bolder ratio.

Originally made with one part orange juice to two parts champagne, it was a stylish way to serve bubbly in the morning without going too heavy. Some old-school versions included a dash of grenadine, but we’re sticking to the original recipe. It’s crisp, citrusy, and beautifully refreshing.

Here is how
we did it
Ingredients

1/3 Orange Juice
2/3 Champagne

How to do it
  1. Pour orange juice inside the Flute Glass using a Pourer until you fill up one third of the glass
  2. Slowly layer Champagne using a Bar Spoon all the way up till you fill the glass
Cheers !
How to Layer Champagne Like a Pro

Want to create a stunning Buck Fizz presentation? Try layering your champagne over the orange juice. Just hold a bar spoon over the juice and gently pour the champagne on top. This slows the pour and keeps the layers distinct — no science degree needed, just a little finesse. Once you master it, your brunch game will never be the same.
