The Yellow Potion Cocktail Recipe & Tutorial

Bright Yellow Cocktail Around a Christmas Background

The Yellow Potion Cocktail Recipe & Tutorial

Wanna enjoy a tropical bright cocktail with your loved ones ? Try out the

" Yellow Potion "

What does this cocktail taste like ?

It closely resembles the popular ” Painkiller ” cocktail with slight variations on the ingredients.

We consider it as a tropical cocktail since the coconut liqueur alongside the pineapple juice gives it that taste & feel.

Even if you enjoy this cocktail in the winter, it will still make you feel the beautiful summer time !

Here is how it is prepared

60 ml ( 2 oz ) White Rum
60 ml ( 2 oz ) Pineapple Juice
22.5 ml ( 0.75 oz ) Orange Juice
30 ml ( 1 oz ) Coconut Liqueur

How to do it

  1. Pour White Rum, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice & Coconut Liqueur into the Beauty Shaker using the Diamond Spouted Single Jigger
  2. Add ice cubes with the Stainless Steel Ice Scoop
  3. Shake
  4. Fill up the Tropical Snake Tail Glass with ice cubes
  5. Strain the cocktail into the glass using the Sköl Hawthorne Strainer

When should I use regular ice cubes vs crushed ice ?

There is rarely a right or wrong time to chose between the two.It is mostly due to your own preference excluding a few cocktails that are strict ( Like the Negroni or the Old Fashioned that require 1 large square cube inside the glass )

Most of the times, just like here you can chose between regular ice cubes, pebbled ice or crushed ice and they should all be fine.

One thing you should note is that crushed ice takes the most volume and dilutes the cocktail much more then the other two, with pebbled ice being the average and regular cubes the least.

So depending on how diluted you want your cocktail to be, go ahead and chose at your own will !

Which type of ice would you use for the Yellow Potion ?
